About the role
One of our health plan clients is building a new ASO (Administrative Services Only)/self-funded product offering from the ground up. The client seeks individuals with direct, hands‑on experience developing and launching ASO/self‑funded products, not just supporting or administering existing offerings. This is a highly execution‑focused engagement requiring someone who can ramp up quickly and contribute meaningful deliverables within the first month.
The client is open to either of the following staffing options:
- Option 1: One individual who can perform both Lead ASO product strategy and product definition, developing detailed requirements, documentation, and implementation activities.
- Option 2: Two separate resources:
- Commercial Product Director: Own ASO strategy, product design, market positioning, pricing structures, network strategy, and product definition.
- Business Analyst / Benefit Configuration Analyst: Gather requirements, create documentation, support benefit configuration, and translate business needs into actionable implementation requirements.
Prior TPA or self‑funded health plan experience is strongly preferred.

- Create detailed requirements, documentation, and implementation plans.

- Handle stop‑loss placement, administration, and strategy.
- Design shared savings models and risk arrangements.
