Primary Purpose

Aid the loan officers in managing and monitoring their loan portfolio, including loan underwriting for new and existing members and member interactions.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Aid loan officers with the loan approval process by obtaining and analyzing financials, preparing loan summaries and packages for approval.
  • Attend outside prospect and member meetings as necessary.
  • Maintain the maturing loan report and assist loan officers and administrative officers in underwriting loans for renewal, gathering necessary financial information and completing LCA's for temporary extensions.
  • Manage past dues, inputting new loans and renewals to B2B, and complete quarterly Problem Asset Reports for review and approval.
  • Assist with managing credit monitoring items and Priority 1 exceptions.
  • Learn about and promote TowneBank products and services, as well as affiliate companies, to identify cross-selling opportunities.
  • Work on special projects to enhance loan portfolio management efficiency in the region.
  • Collaborate with and independently support loan officers and administrative officers in meeting closing requirements and clearing exceptions as needed.
  • Proactively build strong partnerships with business partners.
  • Comply with applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations, including AML and BSA.

Minimum Required Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent member service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and professional interaction with internal and external members.
  • Satisfactory completion of Credit and Small Business rotation or equivalent financial analysis and underwriting experience.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively across various internal departments.
  • Previous lending experience or experience in loan operations.
  • Knowledge of Bank policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in computer applications (Word and Excel).

Desired Skills & Competencies

  • College degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
  • Experience in B2C and B2B lending.
  • At least 8 years of credit analysis/underwriting experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Express or exchange ideas via email and verbally.
  • Sit most of the time.
  • Close visual acuity for analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, reading, and preparing documentation.
  • Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
