Primary Purpose
Aid the loan officers in managing and monitoring their loan portfolio, including loan underwriting for new and existing members and member interactions.
Essential Responsibilities
- Aid loan officers with the loan approval process by obtaining and analyzing financials, preparing loan summaries and packages for approval.
- Attend outside prospect and member meetings as necessary.
- Maintain the maturing loan report and assist loan officers and administrative officers in underwriting loans for renewal, gathering necessary financial information and completing LCA's for temporary extensions.
- Manage past dues, inputting new loans and renewals to B2B, and complete quarterly Problem Asset Reports for review and approval.
- Assist with managing credit monitoring items and Priority 1 exceptions.
- Learn about and promote TowneBank products and services, as well as affiliate companies, to identify cross-selling opportunities.
- Work on special projects to enhance loan portfolio management efficiency in the region.
- Collaborate with and independently support loan officers and administrative officers in meeting closing requirements and clearing exceptions as needed.
- Proactively build strong partnerships with business partners.
- Comply with applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations, including AML and BSA.
Minimum Required Skills & Competencies
- Excellent member service skills.
- Excellent communication skills and professional interaction with internal and external members.
- Satisfactory completion of Credit and Small Business rotation or equivalent financial analysis and underwriting experience.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively across various internal departments.
- Previous lending experience or experience in loan operations.
- Knowledge of Bank policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in computer applications (Word and Excel).
Desired Skills & Competencies
- College degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
- Experience in B2C and B2B lending.
- At least 8 years of credit analysis/underwriting experience.
Physical Requirements
- Express or exchange ideas via email and verbally.
- Sit most of the time.
- Close visual acuity for analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, reading, and preparing documentation.
- Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
