Job Summary
Snell & Wilmer L.L.P., a prominent law firm in the western United States, seeks a full-time Commercial Litigation Paralegal to join their dynamic legal team in Las Vegas. The ideal candidate should have 3 to 5 years of experience in a law firm setting, with a focus on complex commercial litigation cases.
Responsibilities
- Case Management: Oversee the organization and maintenance of case files, including electronic document management, ensuring all materials are up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Document Preparation: Draft and edit pleadings, motions, discovery requests, responses, and other court documents for attorney review.
- Discovery Support: Coordinate and assist with discovery efforts, including document collection, review, and production, and maintain privilege logs.
- E-Discovery: Utilize e-discovery platforms (e.g., Relativity) to manage, analyze, and produce electronic evidence.
- Legal Research: Conduct legal and factual research to support case strategy and draft summaries of findings; cite check legal memoranda and briefs.
- Trial Preparation: Assist with the preparation of trial materials, such as exhibits, witness files, and trial binders; coordinate logistics for hearings and trials; attend trial when requested in state and federal courts, sometimes requiring out-of-town travel.
- Communication: Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, providing updates and gathering necessary information for case progression.
- Administrative Duties: Manage case calendars, track deadlines, track billable time, and maintain organized records of all case activities.
Qualifications
- Baccalaureate degree and paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited paralegal training program or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
- 3 to 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably in a law firm environment.
- Experience with Relativity (RelOne) is a plus.
- Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and case management software.
- Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal software platforms, along with Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong understanding of litigation processes, including federal and state rules of procedure.
- Substantive knowledge of the litigation process and e-discovery, including document collection, review, and production.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments while delivering consistent, quality work-product to both attorneys and clients.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with court filing procedures, including e-filing systems.
