Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in all stages of litigation
  • Aid in preparing and filing (including e-filing) of legal documents in state and federal court
  • Manage case files (create, organize, track, and maintain files; monitor calendars and meeting deadlines; document actions; input information into file database and case management software)
  • Handle document management including review, proofreading, bate labeling, organizing documents, and compiling information for discovery responses, pleadings, and motions
  • Conduct factual research and investigations
  • Lead subpoena and third-party records retrieval efforts
  • Draft correspondence and memoranda for attorneys as requested
  • Familiarize with e-discovery, including technical aspects of collecting, reviewing, and producing electronically stored information (state and federal court)
  • Utilize software such as Relativity, LiveNote, Case/Time Map, Summation, Adobe Acrobat, and Trial Director
  • Prepare for and attend trials (organize evidence, prepare exhibits, schedule witnesses, ensure witnesses are ready)
  • Create basic answers and objections to discovery, deposition abstracts, and other similar litigation tasks
  • Enter time in billing systems such as Laurel AI for accurate and detailed time entries

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience
  • An associate’s degree and/or paralegal certificate required
  • Experience handling commercial litigation and trial experience preferred
  • Experience with medical records and ability to prepare chronologies and record and specials summaries
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with team and clients
  • Excellent organizational and written/oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

About the Role

The firm offers a hybrid work schedule of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote for all paralegals.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $85,000 - $105,000 and actual compensation will depend on various factors including relevant experience, qualifications, and location.
