Core Responsibilities
- Federal & Business Court E-Filing: Direct the compilation, execution, and electronic filing of complex pleadings, motions, and briefs within the NC Business Court and federal district jurisdictions (EDNC, MDNC, WDNC).
- Information Governance: Oversee the complete lifecycle of litigation files, organizing records meticulously by pleading, discovery tier, witness, and expert profile.
- Docket Management: Maintain centralized case calendars, tracking strict court deadlines, scheduling orders, depositions, and downstream scheduling impacts.
- Substantive Drafting: Generate routine litigation correspondence, deposition notices, subpoenas, certificates of service, and motion shells while executing brief cite-checking and Bluebooking.
- Discovery Operations: Supervise written discovery workflows, organize responsive document collections, build detailed privilege logs, and manage vendor document productions.
- E-Discovery Architecture: Administer complex data processing, review, and production protocols (Bates labeling, redactions, and protective order compliance) within modern review platforms; assist with source-code review protocols.
- Trial Logistics & Prep: Assemble robust trial notebooks, exhibit lists, witness files, and demonstrative materials; manage courtroom technology and coordinate closely with court clerks.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 3–5 years of dedicated litigation paralegal experience, displaying extensive, substantive control over federal court actions.
- Procedural Literacy: In-depth working knowledge of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP), North Carolina Rules of Civil Procedure, and local district court guidelines.
- Technical Ecosystem: Advanced proficiency using modern litigation databases (Relativity, DISCO), Adobe Acrobat Professional (Bates labeling/redaction suites), and legal research engines.
- Credentials: North Carolina Certified Paralegal (NCCP) designation or ABA-approved Paralegal degree/certificate preferred.

$80,000 to $110,000, DOE
