About the role

Latitude is assisting an esteemed AmLaw 100 law firm in its search for a mid-level Commercial Litigation/Disputes Associate to join its Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice in Portland, OR. This is an excellent permanent opportunity for an attorney looking to handle sophisticated, high-stakes litigation while gaining meaningful responsibility, client exposure, and hands-on mentorship from experienced litigators.

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex litigation matters from inception through resolution
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other substantive filings
  • Develop case strategy in collaboration with partners and other team members
  • Conduct depositions and witness interviews
  • Manage all phases of discovery, including e-discovery
  • Prepare for and argue motions before state and federal courts
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding case developments and strategy
  • Participate in settlement negotiations
  • Stay current on relevant legal developments and litigation trends
  • Take on increasing responsibility, substantive case ownership, direct client contact, and participation in client development and firm initiatives

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the Oregon Bar
  • California and Washington bar admissions are a plus
  • 3–5 years of litigation experience, preferably with a focus on commercial litigation

Qualifications

  • Strong litigation experience, including drafting pleadings and motions, managing discovery, and representing clients in court
  • Excellent legal research, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple matters and competing deadlines
  • Sound professional judgment and the ability to make strategic decisions
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality legal services and achieving strong outcomes for clients
  • Experience with e-discovery and litigation support tools preferred

Pay

The salary range for this role is $200,000 - $240,000/year. Pay is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, work experience, qualifications, credentials, and location.
