Commercial Lines Producer

About the role

The Commercial Lines Producer works with retail insurance agents to solicit, underwrite, market, and bind coverage on the agent's behalf within the excess and surplus lines market. The role involves conducting marketing and sales initiatives, qualifying and developing business opportunities, mentoring account managers, and attending educational activities.

Responsibilities

• Solicit, underwrite, market, and bind coverage on behalf of retail insurance agents within the excess and surplus lines market.
• Qualify and develop business opportunities with new and existing agents.
• Mentor account managers, associate producers, and assistant account managers.
• Attend company-approved seminars and other educational activities to stay current on market developments, trends, and regulations.
• Meet or exceed production goals of $150,000-$200,000 in revenue annually.
• Provide advisory support and regular updates to the Manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree desirable.
• A valid Property and Casualty license is required.
• Five plus years of directly related experience with successful performance.
• Regular travel to agency customers and company industry functions is expected.

Skills and Abilities

• Commitment to 18-24 months of training to gain knowledge in business, sales, and marketing disciplines.
• Effective oral and written communications skills, including excellent telephone skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Proficiency in working in a paperless, web-based environment.

Qualifications

• Desirable: Bachelor's degree.
• Required: Valid Property and Casualty license.
• Experience: Five plus years of directly related experience with successful performance.
