About the role
The Commercial Lines Producer is responsible for selling new business to ensure continued profitable growth for the agency.
Responsibilities
- Contact prospects, schedule appointments, and make sales presentations
- Develop prospecting programs and follow-up for maximum results
- Maintain prospect list of clients for the target business
- Balance production to achieve the desired mix of business; promote products of carriers that the firm has identified as important
- Cookordination production efforts with marketing and service staff
- Accurately and thoroughly complete survey and application forms, before marketing or submitting to be marketed
- Coordinate production efforts with marketing and service staff
- Conduct periodic meetings with Account Managers to provide updates and ensure policies and procedures are understood
- Arrange payment terms for all accounts, in accordance with agency credit and collections policies
- Gather information on renewals; deliver renewals and/or binders following agency guidelines

- Remain abreast of trends and techniques to maintain a competitive status for the agency within the industry
- Attend sales seminars, company sales meetings, or educational activities needed to improve sales techniques, stay up-to-date on the latest developments in the marketplace and maintain required licenses
- Review all agency activities relating to the public, customers, and companies to avoid issues involving potential errors and omissions
Requirements
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to influence others
- Must possess excellent listening and sales skills
- Should possess commercial lines product knowledge, as well as knowledge of agency systems and company relationships
- Ability to work within a fast-paced, changing priority environment
- Self-motivated, with the initiative to prioritize and be self-directed
- Effective organizational skills and the ability to respond to requests effectively and efficiently
- To carry out detailed written or verbal instructions with multiple variables
- Regular and punctual attendance is required
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally, and in writing
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both colleagues, and managers, across all levels
- To promote, and maintain a team environment, willing to find accommodating solutions for our customers, companies, and the Agency
- To successfully adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as maintain strict confidentiality
Qualifications
- 3-5 Years of sales experience, with proven sales success, demonstrating preferred
- Must have all licenses as required by the State Department of Insurance
- College degree and CPCU, CIC, and ARM designations preferred
