Commercial & Government Events Specialist, Trade Shows
About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Commercial & Government Events Specialist to plan, execute, and optimize events that drive business growth, client engagement, and brand visibility.
This role will manage end-to-end event delivery, working cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and external partners to ensure successful commercial outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute a range of commercial events, including trade shows, conferences, client activations, sponsorships/integrations, and corporate events
- Manage event budgets, timelines, and logistics to ensure delivery on time and within scope
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to align events with revenue goals and campaign strategies
- Identify and secure venues, vehicles, vendors, and sponsorship opportunities
- Negotiate contracts with event managers and partners to maximize ROI
- Oversee on-site event execution, ensuring a high-quality attendee experience
- Track and report on event performance, including lead generation, pipeline impact, and ROI
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and clients
- Ensure compliance with brand standards and company policies
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve event effectiveness and efficiency
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Marketing and Communications
- 3–6 years of experience in event management, preferably in a commercial or B2B environment
- Proven track record of delivering successful events tied to business outcomes
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Experience managing budgets and vendor negotiations
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Able to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Being proactive and showing initiative
- Willingness to travel and support on-site event execution as needed

This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900.
This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$166,200.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
