About the Role

In most construction positions, you execute against a schedule. In this one, you control the timeline—and restore it when the plan falls apart. 2 Hour Learning is building a nationwide microschool network that compresses a full day of instruction into two hours through AI. That vision requires both speed and accuracy on the ground. Permitting delays, incorrect sequencing, and poor handoffs all slow growth. This role is designed to remove those obstacles and transform construction into a reliable, scalable process.

You will operate on-site to drive project delivery. Manage contractors. Maintain schedules. Resolve sequencing conflicts before they create setbacks. Simultaneously, you will leverage AI and digital platforms to minimize manual effort, improve transparency, and increase velocity. This is active, not passive, project management. You are the person who intervenes when schedules drift and restores momentum. If you've worked near construction and grown frustrated by weak coordination, insufficient accountability, or endless reactive firefighting, this is your opportunity to take ownership and build it correctly—at scale.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Manage on-site construction execution, collaborating directly with contractors to ensure tasks are performed in proper order and according to schedule
  • Take ownership of project timelines, monitor critical milestones, flag risks proactively, and implement corrective measures when delays emerge
  • Leverage platforms such as Procore, Asana, or MS Project to coordinate tasks, maintain documentation, and monitor progress across live construction sites
  • Facilitate permitting processes by monitoring submissions, addressing reviewer feedback, and coordinating with stakeholders to expedite approvals
  • Deploy AI-driven tools to streamline planning, documentation, and decision-making, cutting manual workload and boosting project speed

What You Won't Be Doing

  • Observing progress from behind a screen without stepping in when schedules begin to slip
  • Overseeing projects from a distance without direct knowledge of field conditions and trade sequencing challenges
  • Depending on legacy, manual methods for progress tracking or team communication
  • Sidestepping tough conversations with contractors or stakeholders when deadlines are in jeopardy
  • Delaying action on problems until you have complete information

Key Responsibilities

Ensure on-time delivery of school construction projects by directly managing site coordination, maintaining schedule discipline, and increasing both speed and reliability through digital tools and AI.

Basic Requirements

  • Hands-on construction experience (site coordination, contractor oversight, or schedule management) with the ability to detail a specific project, your responsibilities, and how you resolved execution obstacles
  • Direct experience managing or coordinating a project schedule, including building timelines, monitoring milestones, and holding deadlines, with at least one clear example of addressing a delay or variance
  • Competence using at least one digital project management platform (e.g., Procore, Asana, MS Project) and the ability to describe its application on an actual project
  • Practical knowledge of construction trade sequencing and the ability to recount a scenario where sequencing choices affected project timing
  • Familiarity with permitting workflows (submissions, reviews, revisions, interactions with authorities having jurisdiction) with direct participation in at least one cycle
  • Proven application of AI tools to speed up real work, including a concrete example of the tool, the output it produced, and how you validated accuracy
  • Capacity and willingness to be on-site a minimum of 3 days per week, with roughly 60% travel throughout the United States depending on project demand
  • Based in the United States and eligible to work without requiring visa sponsorship

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Background managing multiple construction projects at the same time
  • Experience in fast-moving or high-growth construction settings with compressed project schedules
  • Enthusiasm for refining construction workflows through automation or process design
