Commercial Construction HVAC Foreman

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead HVAC technicians and installers on commercial job sites
• Ensure installations meet project specifications, manufacturer guidelines, and local building codes
• Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and other trades
• Enforce safety policies and maintain OSHA compliance on all sites
• Troubleshoot and resolve installation or system performance issues
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings for accurate system layout
• Order, track, and manage tools, materials, and equipment
• Train and mentor junior technicians and helpers
• Conduct quality control inspections and ensure environmental and safety standards are met
• Monitor project timelines and support on-schedule completion

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in commercial HVAC installation, service, or maintenance
• Prior experience in a foreman, lead technician, or supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of ductwork, piping, refrigeration systems, and controls
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical schematics
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and job-site safety practices
• Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation
• Physical ability to lift equipment and work in varied environmental conditions
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• HVAC certification or completion of an accredited apprenticeship program
• Experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS)
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
