Commercial Account Specialist, Energy Efficiency

About the role

ICF is seeking a Commercial Account Specialist to assist in the delivery of commercial energy efficiency programs. The selected candidate will manage a pipeline of existing energy efficiency projects and recruit new participants into the program. The role involves calling on customers and contractors in the utility client’s service territory to increase energy efficiency projects and participation in utility incentive programs.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit program participants (non-residential eligible customers) through account management, sales strategies, persuasive presentations, and relationship-building activities.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance on energy-efficient technologies and practices to companies participating in utility-sponsored programs.
  • Ensure projects in assigned territory are up-to-date in the program tracking system by communicating with customers and contractors on project status and expected completion dates.
  • Deliver presentations and training to local stakeholder groups, contractors, and customers.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure successful evaluation, implementation, and verification of energy efficiency projects in all non-residential markets.
  • Provide contractor support and assistance services.
  • Conduct surveys and inspections of energy efficiency projects to verify equipment installation and operation.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of submitted projects for approval.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or applicants can substitute one year of related experience for one year of education).
  • 2+ years of energy efficiency, sales, and/or outreach experience working with commercial or industrial companies and/or related experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.
  • Reliable vehicle for local travel up to 50% of the time in the Southeastern Louisiana region (mileage reimbursement provided).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with energy efficiency technologies and practices.
  • Knowledge of the existing network of distributors, contractors, and construction companies serving the Southeastern Louisiana area.
  • Experience working on successful energy efficiency programs.
  • Utility experience and understanding of Demand Side Management (DSM) program implementation.
  • Experience with ENERGY STAR, LEED, and other program platforms.
  • Experience performing energy audits and energy savings calculations.
  • Experience using a CRM such as Salesforce.

Pay

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is: $60,940.00 - $103,598.00.
