Combination Building Inspector

About the role

SAFEbuilt is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Building Official. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building codes and regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Review construction plans and ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
• Inspect buildings during various stages of construction to ensure adherence to approved plans and standards.
• Issue permits and maintain accurate records of all issued permits.
• Provide guidance and training to contractors and developers on building code requirements.
• Respond to inquiries from the public regarding building code compliance.
• Prepare reports and documentation as required by regulatory bodies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in building inspection or related field.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Experience with building permit processing and record keeping.
• Background in construction management or related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Pay

Salary range: $60,000 - $80,000 annually.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
