Combination Building Inspector

About the role

SAFEbuilt is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Building Official. This position is responsible for overseeing the building department's operations, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal building codes, and providing technical guidance to clients.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve construction plans and permits
• Inspect buildings and construction sites to ensure compliance with building codes
• Provide technical assistance and training to contractors and clients
• Enforce building codes and regulations
• Respond to complaints and inquiries related to building code compliance
• Prepare reports and documentation as required

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in building inspection or related field
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes and regulations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with building permit systems and software
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Pay
