About the role
The Engineering Intern will gain cross-functional plant experience at the SRP Gila River Power Station in Gila Bend, Arizona. The station houses four combined cycle power blocks, with SRP owning and operating blocks 1 and 4, and operating blocks 2 and 3 for TEP.
Responsibilities
- Exposure to Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering to understand plant systems and functionality.
- Interpret drawings (P&IDs, one-lines) and perform field walkdowns to understand system design and operation.
- Utilize the CMMS for Work Management and Project Management processes.
- Help engineers and participate in Outages and Inspection activities.
- Support engineers with scope & analysis, cost estimates, and basic economic evaluations.
- Participate in audits, welding document reviews, and compliance verification activities.
Requirements
Minimum 15 hours per week, up to 40 hours per week.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited engineering program.
- Strong academic performance.
- Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical principles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol test.
Skills
