About the role
Eurofins Scientific is an international life sciences company providing analytical testing services to ensure the safety, authenticity, and accuracy of products across multiple industries. As a Collections Specialist, you will manage an account portfolio, contact clients for payment of past-due invoices, resolve conflicts delaying payments, and maintain excellent internal and external customer service. This position is primarily remote but requires local residency in Barberton, OH, with onsite work and training as needed.
Schedule
Full-time, 1st shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain accounts within an assigned portfolio (large accounts).
- Contact clients via verbal and written communication for payment of past-due invoices.
- Provide information and documentation to internal and external clients.
- Interact with the Collections Manager and Operations Designees to resolve client issues.
- Maintain current and accurate account notes in collections software.
- Provide updates on accounts to the Collections Manager, Operations, and Sales as needed.
- Work the daily follow-up queue in collections software.
- Notify the Collections Manager of negative payment patterns.
- Facilitate and/or attend conference calls specific to collections activity on client accounts.
- Resolve cash discrepancies on client accounts through research in Oracle of payment application.
- Process credit card payments.
- Complete side projects/tasks as assigned by the Collections Manager.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of Collections, Accounts Receivable, or customer service experience.
- Computer skills.
- Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.
- Professional working proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Must live within a commutable distance of Barberton, OH.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Previous Collections experience.
- Previous Accounts Receivable experience.
- Knowledge of the Accounting process.
- Customer service experience (internal and external).
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- General business and accounting knowledge.
- Experience with computers and accounting software.
- Understanding of basic mathematical principles.
- Knowledge of collections policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Active listening, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to employ tact and discretion in business-related conversations.
Pay
$20/hour.
