Collections Analyst

About the role

You will engage in collections operations, analyze major accounts, and review complex collection activities. Your work will include analyzing large engagements and aged WIP balances to ensure timely billing, developing and implementing record-keeping systems, forms, policies, and procedures related to billing, processing payments, and other collection activities. You will identify and resolve problems and inconsistencies, suggest corrective procedures, and communicate accounting policies and practices with department and firm managers, vendors, clients, and the public. Additionally, you will adhere to all collection policies, procedures, and KPIs, contact various credit sources, ensure credit packages or client financial statuses are complete, and notify partners of delinquent payments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement record-keeping systems, forms, policies, and procedures related to billing, processing payments, and other collection activities
• Identify and resolve problems and inconsistencies; suggest appropriate corrective procedures
• Communicate and coordinate accounting policies, practices, and procedures with department and firm managers, vendors, reporting agencies, clients, and the public
• Adhere to all collection policies, procedures, and KPIs
• Contact various credit sources, ensure credit packages or client financial status is complete, and notify partners of delinquent payments

Requirements

• 3-5 years of collection, professional services, or similar experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent required
• Experience with accounts receivable is preferred
• Experience working within a professional services firm collections department is highly preferred
• Analytical ability to identify variances, research financial activity, provide explanations, and improve accounting processes and procedures
• Proficiency with financial accounting and reporting systems, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint

Pay

The compensation range for this role in CO, IL, OH, and MA is $53,500.00 – $80,000.00. Compensation decisions take into account factors such as responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. For early career roles, including campus hires, standardized, market-based starting salaries are offered to ensure fairness.

Schedule

This is an exempt position, and you may be required to work hours that exceed the standard 40-hour work week. Plante Moran follows a “Workplace for Your Day” model, striving for flexibility and balance while maintaining a principally in-person work environment.
