About the role
SAFEbuilt is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Building Official. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with local building codes and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Review construction plans and ensure they comply with local building codes and regulations.
- Inspect buildings and construction sites to ensure adherence to safety and code standards.
- Issue permits and maintain records of all issued permits.
- Provide technical guidance to contractors and developers on building code requirements.
- Respond to complaints and inquiries regarding building code violations.
- Participate in public meetings and provide input on zoning and land use issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in building inspection or related field.
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with building permit systems.
- Knowledge of construction materials and techniques.

Pay
Salary range: $70,000 - $90,000 annually.
