About the role

SAFEbuilt is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Building Official. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with local building codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Review construction plans and ensure they comply with local building codes and regulations.
  • Inspect buildings and construction sites to ensure adherence to safety and code standards.
  • Issue permits and maintain records of all issued permits.
  • Provide technical guidance to contractors and developers on building code requirements.
  • Respond to complaints and inquiries regarding building code violations.
  • Participate in public meetings and provide input on zoning and land use issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in building inspection or related field.
  • Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with building permit systems.
  • Knowledge of construction materials and techniques.
