About the role
The role involves enforcing local, state, and federal codes related to housing, public health, safety, and environmental protection. Responsibilities include conducting inspections, issuing citations, and providing educational outreach to residents.
Responsibilities
- Conducting inspections of residential and commercial properties to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes.
- Issuing citations and warnings to property owners who violate codes.
- Providing educational workshops and seminars to community members about compliance with housing, public health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Collaborating with other city departments to address complex issues that require multi-disciplinary solutions.
- Maintaining detailed records of all inspections, citations, and interactions with property owners.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in a law enforcement or administrative capacity.
- Experience with computerized record-keeping systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal housing, public health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay
