About the Role
The Administrative Clerk is the primary support position for all department staff and the Director. This part-time role (19 hours per week) involves managing the Council on Aging’s website, social media, and e-newsletter communications with the community. The position also supports programs and events by assisting the Outreach Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator with advertisements, flyers, supply orders, and event setup.
Responsibilities
- Provides customer service in person, by phone, email, and other means.
- Monitors and assists office volunteers.
- Supports the Outreach Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator in planning and preparing for programs and events.
- Assists the COA Administrative Assistant with daily Meals on Wheels head counts and delivery lists.
- Manages and maintains the COA’s presence on the town website and social media.
- Creates flyers and advertisements for programs and events.
- Creates and circulates the weekly e-newsletter.
- Prepares and processes sign-up sheets for programs.
- Enters monthly events and statistics into the My Senior Center database.
- Performs clerical support for the Director and staff, including correspondence, memos, agendas, and reports.
- Assists town residents with program inquiries and enrollments.
- Collects and posts program fees.
- Prepares proposals for small department projects.
- Conducts research using Google and other search engines.
- Assists in maintaining the dignity closet.
- Acts as a mandatory reporter for elder neglect or abuse.
- Performs related duties as assigned by the COA Director.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- One to three years of clerical experience.
- Municipal experience preferred; Council on Aging/Senior Center experience highly preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
Pay
Hourly range: \$22.2015–\$29.1202 (Grade B).
Schedule
Part-time, 19 hours per week.
