Co-Op, Machinist
About the role
This is a temporary position to develop the skills of a student enrolled in a high school technical trade program, and to evaluate their potential for future opportunity at Straumann. Straumann runs a world class shop and supports training and teaching of students. This is a great opportunity for the right student.
Responsibilities
- Prepare daily micro-sections samples for production
- Operate manual machines including engine lathes and milling machines
- Operate CNC machinery with assistance of a Machinist to ensure parts meet specifications
- Inspect parts visually and dimensionally to include SPC part inspection
- Clean and maintain machines
Requirements
- Enrolled in a High School Technical/Trade machinist program
- Utilize eyesight and manual dexterity to work with small parts and hold tight tolerances
- General manufacturing environment
- Will be exposed to conditions associated with manufacturing equipment and tools
- Moderate lifting up to 50 lbs

$18.50/hour. The final pay for this position will vary based on geographic location and candidate experience relative to what the company reasonably anticipates for this position.
