About the Company

Closet Factory is a leading manufacturer specializing in custom closet organization systems. With a commitment to quality and innovation, we pride ourselves on delivering tailor-made solutions to meet our clients' needs. Our manufacturing facility is a hub of creativity and efficiency, where every member of our team plays a crucial role in bringing our clients' visions to life.

About the Role

Closet Factory is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our manufacturing team as a CNC operator. In this role, you will collaborate with our team in the production of custom closet organization systems, ensuring the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship are maintained throughout the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

  • Machine Setup and Operation: Ensure the CNC machine (typically a nested-base router or a point-to-point borer) runs efficiently.
  • Loading Programs: Select and upload the correct CAD/CAM design files for specific customer orders.
  • Material Prep: Select the correct melamine, wood, or plywood sheets based on the job ticket (checking for color, thickness, and finish).
  • Tooling Maintenance: Change out router bits and drill bits as they dull; ensure the vacuum seal on the table is strong enough to hold pieces in place.
  • Verifying Dimensions: Use calipers and tape measures to ensure the machine is cutting to the exact specifications of the design.
  • Edge Quality: Check for "chip-out" on melamine surfaces and ensure holes for shelf pins and cams are clean and at the correct depth.
  • Labeling: Apply identification stickers to each part (e.g., "Left Partition - Master Suite") so the assembly and installation teams know exactly where each piece goes.
  • Nested Optimization: Manage the layout of parts on a sheet to minimize wood waste.
  • Offcut Management: Sort and store usable scrap material for smaller parts like cleats or spacers.
  • Sorting: Organize finished parts onto carts by job number to prepare them for the next stage (usually the Edgebander).
  • Safety Compliance: Operate the machine within safety guidelines, wear appropriate PPE (hearing and eye protection), and know the location of emergency stops.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify when the machine is "acting up" and perform basic resets or report mechanical issues to the shop foreman.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing or woodworking preferred but not required; we are willing to train motivated individuals.
  • Ability to read and interpret designs and technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Basic math skills and ability to accurately measure materials.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
  • Commitment to safety procedures and guidelines.

Benefits

  • Competitive hourly wage.
  • Benefits package, including health and dental insurance available.
  • Opportunities for advancement and career growth within the company.
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • A positive and collaborative work environment where your contributions are valued.
