CNC Machinist

Key Responsibilities

  • CNC Machining: Efficiently operate a lathe, swiss lathe, wire EDM, 3-Axis mill, and/or 5-Axis mill to machine parts.
  • CNC Setup and Operation: Follow a setup sheet or look at a program on CAM and set up a job. Evaluate a part and come up with a plan to effectively make it.
  • Experience with HAAS, TRAK, or Heidenhain is a plus.
  • Inspiring tool and machine offsets to make sure the parts are correct.
  • Cutting tool and toolpath knowledge: You may be given the opportunity to push the limits of current cutting tool technology.
  • Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment (micrometers, bore gauges, indicators, height gauges, etc.).
  • Assist in developing and documenting repeatable processes for transition to production.
  • Maintain safe, clean, and organized work area in accordance with safety standards.

What We’re Looking For

  • High School Diploma or GED required; vocational training in precision machining highly desirable.
  • Prior experience operating and setting up CNC Mills or Lathes (CNC lathe, 3-Axis mill, and/or 5-Axis mill).
  • CNC Programming experience preferred (BUT NOT NECESSARY).
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints including GD&T tolerancing with profile tolerancing preferred.
  • Proficient in measurement tool usage (micrometer, caliper, comparator, height gauge, etc.).
  • Detail oriented, meticulous and focus on quality.
  • Ability to work in a team, strong interpersonal skills, effective communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A positive attitude with a strong desire to learn and accept mentorship.
  • A "safety first" commitment to maintaining a secure and clean machine shop environment.

Schedule

  • First & Second Shifts Available:
  • 1st Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00am to 4:30pm
  • 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday 3:00pm to 12:00am (15% shift differential)
  • Optional overtime on Saturdays (as needed)
