CNC Machinist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented CNC Lathe Setup Operator to join our machining team. The ideal candidate will have experience setting up and operating CNC lathes to produce high-quality precision components. Experience with Okuma CNC lathes is a strong plus. This position requires a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes for production of precision machined components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Perform tool changes, offsets, and machine adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Troubleshoot machining and setup issues to minimize downtime.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment in good working order.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to meet production goals.

Requirements

• Previous CNC lathe setup experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Experience with Okuma CNC lathes is highly preferred.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Relevant training or certification in CNC machining is preferred.
