About the role
This position requires demonstrated proficiency in the set-up and operation of CNC Lathe equipment with minimum supervision. The role involves working from blueprints and verbal instructions to select proper tooling, set up and operate machines, determine speeds and feeds, and produce required products in accordance with acceptable standards of performance, quality, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC Lathe with minimum supervision
- Select proper tooling based on blueprints and verbal instructions
- Determine appropriate speeds and feeds for machining operations
- Produce products meeting quality and safety standards
- Write CNC Lathe programs from blueprints
- Perform spiral grooving operations
- Hold close tolerance work to specification of .0005 inch
- Use inspection and measuring instruments including mics, bore gauges, and calipers
- Use support equipment including Boring Bar and Steadyrest
- Use CAD/CAM software or conversational programming
Qualifications
- Proficient and safe use of all required support equipment
- Understanding of CNC computer language
- Ability to write CNC Lathe programs from blueprints
- Ability to follow written set-up sheets and verbal set-up instructions
- Ability to pass a shop math test
