CNC MACHINIST 2ND SHIFT

About the role

Leidos’ Defense Systems Colorado Manufacturing is seeking a CNC Machinist 2nd Shift to join their team at their Colorado Springs, CO location. The ideal candidate will need to have experience in programming, setup, and operation of a variety of machine tools including CNC Mills and CNC Lathes.

Responsibilities

• Must be capable of reading engineering drawings
• Operation of CNC lathes (primarily), provide backup operations on CNC mills and other manual equipment
• Set up and run machines on a wide variety of operations involving multiple machines that convert raw materials to precision finished goods within print tolerance specification
• Use fixtures or gauges to verify accomplish dimensional checks
• Experience in the manufacturing of large aerospace components from exotic materials is a plus
• Experience in 5-axis and/or mill-turn operations is preferred
• Perform other duties as required and available for overtime as necessary

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• 5+ years of experience in precision machining on CNC Mills & CNC Lathes
• Intermediate knowledge of shop math skills
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings as well as understand basic work instructions for product fabrication
• Basic knowledge, skills, and understanding with hand and power tools to include, deburring tools, wrenches, etc.
• Proficiency with precision measuring and fixed gauge equipment (micrometers, calipers, electronic height gauges, etc.)
• Candidates must be able to lift a minimum of 35+ pounds unassisted
• Candidates must be able to work full-time, 4-days per week 2ND shift

Qualifications

• US Citizenship requirement and clearance requirement

Skills

Experience in the manufacturing of complex aerospace components from exotic materials

Strong interpersonal skills

Basic PC skills for data entry, timecard and production time entries

Benefits

Pay Range: $69,550.00 - $125,725.00
