JOB SUMMARY
Provides safe, age-appropriate patient care while assisting patients and residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and maintaining a safe, clean, and supportive environment. Float Pool CNA I team members provide care across multiple units and patient populations based on staffing and operational needs.Responsibilities Include
- Assisting patients and residents with bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, grooming, and mobility
- Supporting safe patient transfers and ambulation using proper equipment and techniques
- Monitoring and reporting changes in patient condition to nursing staff
- Assisting with vital signs and routine patient care tasks
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized patient environment
- Providing compassionate care to patients with medical, memory care, and behavioral health needs
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support positive patient outcomes
- Floating to assigned units based on hospital staffing needs
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Licensure & Certification: Current Maryland Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant (CNA I) license required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Experience: 2–3 years of experience in medical, dementia, rehabilitation, or behavioral health settings
- Skills: Basic computer literacy and familiarity with electronic health records such as Synquest; experience using assistive equipment including Hoyer lifts and specialty beds; strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to adapt quickly to varying patient populations and care environments
