Job Overview

Fairview is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Woodwind’s Hospital in Woodbury, MN. This position is a 0.7 FTE (56 hours per two weeks) working 8-hour shifts on the Day shift, with an every other weekend requirement.

About the Role

Woodwinds Health Campus opened its 86-bed hospital in August 2000. Located on 30 acres of pristine wetlands in Woodbury, MN, it’s the only hospital in the southeast metro area. Woodwinds provides convenient, comprehensive, and quality healthcare for the community.

Responsibilities

  • Provides basic patient care by performing routine duties to include: personal grooming, bathing, toileting, feeding, skin care needs, applying ointments/creams, oral hygiene, specimen collection/testing, positioning/ambulating, changing linens, promptly answering call lights, assisting nurse in monitoring patient condition, accurately taking and recording vital signs, placing patient on/off monitors or equipment, reporting unusual findings to the RN in a timely manner, assisting with admissions, transfers, and discharge of patients, orienting patient/family to environment, ensuring the patient’s belongings are accounted for, documented upon admission, transfer, and discharge.

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
  • Ontrack participants must be able to obtain Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification upon completion of the OnTrack program.
  • Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview-sponsored Nursing Assistant program.
  • Six months of recent direct care experience in a long-term, home care, or acute care setting (appropriate roles may include Nursing Assistant, PCA, Resident Assistant, or Emergency Room Technician).
  • Current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program.
  • Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire. This requirement does not need to be maintained throughout employment and is not required if subsequently transferring into another Nursing Assistant or Nursing Station Tech or Nursing Station Attendant position.
