CNA Float Mental Health Aide

About the role

The float pool staff will work across various program areas at the Human Services Center, including Adult Acute, Adolescents, Psych Rehab, Geriatrics, and the Intensive Treatment Unit. These positions perform personal care services and support patients with mental health and chemical dependency issues.

Responsibilities

• Work in areas of highest need based on patient requirements.
• Complete patient care assignments.
• Create an atmosphere conducive to treatment.
• Support patients with mental health and chemical dependency issues.
• Accurately observe, recognize, report, and record physical symptoms and significant behavioral characteristics of patients.
• Carry out individual program plans for treatment of patients.
• Relate to and work constructively with patients.
• Detect significant or unusual patient behavior.
• Verbalize the needs of patients.
• Provide personal care services to patients.
• Follow oral and written instructions.
• Follow established policies and procedures.
• Listen and be empathetic with patients.
• Aid in lifting and transferring of patients.
• Lift up to 75 pounds.
• Work with patients displaying aggressive behavior.
• Communicate information clearly and concisely.

Requirements

• Knowledge of mental illness, serious emotional disturbance, and chemical dependency.
• Understanding of patient safety procedures.
• Understanding of patient rights and confidentiality.
• CPR and first aid certifications.
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) Techniques.

Pay

$20.30 hourly, depending on qualifications.
