Mental Health Therapy Aide *

Job Summary

The Mental Health Therapy Aide (MHTA) fulfills objectives within the mission of the Golisano Center for Special Needs for the inpatient units. Duties include:

• Engage in daily meetings with behavior team to discuss treatment plans
• Participate in the implementation of treatment plans
• Manage and graph data
• Identify key variables affecting patient outcomes
• Involvement in assistance with daily living tasks while ensuring patient's privacy and dignity are respected
• Data management
• Participation in implementation of behavioral treatment procedures
• Use time efficiently and productively in the absence of specific assigned responsibilities
• Accept responsibilities and conduct oneself in a professional manner
• Identify problems and suggest strategies for resolving issues
• Interact with colleagues in a positive manner appropriate to audience and format

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduated from high school or have earned a high school equivalency diploma (such as a GED)
• Experience in the implementation of applied behavior analysis assessment/treatment programs with developmentally disabled population is preferred
• Experience using computers and application software is preferred

Work Days Schedule

Based on a 40-hour work week. 2-12 hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday

Pay

$28,935 (60% of $48,225) with a $4,000 GEO
