Purpose

Responsible for part layout, developing CMM programming and dimensional reports from CMM data for the PPAP (production part approval process) review program. This includes sample parts, gage layouts, and final assembly annual recertification. Lead and or support area in continuous improvement efforts. Ensure quality products are delivered to customers and address customer concerns and issues.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Part layout, CMM programming and PPAP’s.
  • Set-up and check dimensions on parts, using metrology instruments, to ensure parts meet quality standards and that dimensions are accurate.
  • Perform gage studies and capability studies.
  • Develop gage instruction sheets and update as needed.
  • Work on SPR (sample part requests) and assist technicians with set-ups.
  • Calibrate equipment gages.
  • Train employees in proper procedures and job skills.
  • Check, sort, and file paperwork.
  • Enter data into the computer from paper documents for record keeping purposes.
  • Interface with the Quality Manager to address quality issues.
