Cloud System Engineer IV - OpenShift Architect

About the opportunity

The Cloud Systems Engineer IV - OpenShift Architect designs and supports enterprise OpenShift and Kubernetes environments that enable secure, scalable application modernization, including migration of legacy applications and virtual machines into containerized platforms using OpenShift Virtualization Engine (OVE) and OpenShift Kubernetes Engine (OKE). This role develops automation, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure standards while collaborating with engineers, developers, and system administrators to ensure reliable deployments and integration in a remote and on-site work environment. This role requires participation in an on-call rotation and occasional weekend work to support mission-critical systems and operational needs. Success in this role means delivering stable and well-governed container platforms, improving deployment automation and CI/CD reliability, and enabling smooth migration of legacy systems to cloud-native environments. It also includes strong documentation, effective cross-team collaboration, and consistent support of secure, high-performing Kubernetes operations.

Responsibilities

• Design and support enterprise OpenShift and Kubernetes environments
• Migrate legacy applications and virtual machines into containerized platforms using OVE and OKE
• Develop automation, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure standards
• Collaborate with engineers, developers, and system administrators to ensure reliable deployments and integration

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Minimum 8 years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or similar roles
• Experience with OpenShift and Kubernetes
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and OpenShift Virtualization Engine (OVE)
• Experience with virtual machine migration to containerized platforms
• Experience with on-call rotations and weekend work
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
