About the role

We are seeking an OpenShift/Cloud Engineer to provide engineering, support, automation, and thought leadership for our Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offerings. The role involves assisting with application migrations to our PaaS platform and related activities.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and operationally support RedHat OpenShift infrastructure (OCP 4.6 through latest stable version).
  • Manage Linux containers (Docker), Kubernetes, and deployment of containerized applications/microservices architectures.
  • Migrate and refactor applications to containerized workloads.
  • Provision multi-node high-availability (HA) clusters, including monitoring, performance testing, and application deployment.
  • Implement and maintain automated deployment tools and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Git, Jenkins).
  • Apply DevOps concepts, tools, and practices in a hands-on capacity.
  • Document processes, share knowledge, and train team members.
  • Collaborate in a multi-tasking environment with multiple concurrent projects.
  • Communicate complex technical issues effectively through written, oral, and digital channels.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux.
  • Experience with Java, JBoss, nginx, Node.js, and enterprise application architectures.
  • Proficiency in at least one configuration management or scripting technology (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Python).
  • Working knowledge of networking topics (protocols, firewalls, load balancers, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to stay current with industry standards and emerging technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with VMware technologies (vCenter, vRA, vRO) and running OpenShift on bare metal.
  • Working knowledge of SSL certificate management.
  • Experience with Agile teams, tools, and practices (Kanban, stand-ups, sprints, etc.).
  • Familiarity with container and pod-level monitoring and logging (Dynatrace, QRadar).
  • Experience with IBM Cloud and/or AWS.
