About the Role

The Cloud Operations Specialist/Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day administration, support, and continuous improvement of the organization’s cloud-based platforms, with a primary focus on the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. This role ensures the reliability, security, and performance of cloud services by managing user access, endpoint devices, and identity solutions, while supporting a seamless technology experience for employees. The position also plays a critical role in driving automation, enhancing operational efficiency, and supporting compliance and governance initiatives across the cloud environment.

Work Location: Hybrid position out of Vienna, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Microsoft 365 Platform Administration
    • Administer and maintain the M365 tenant including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Power Platform services
    • Manage user provisioning, licensing, group policies, and permissions across the M365 environment
    • Monitor service health, perform proactive maintenance, and implement platform updates and improvements
    • Support SharePoint site architecture, intranet operations, and knowledge base maintenance
  • Identity, Access & Endpoint Management
    • Administer Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) including user lifecycle, conditional access policies, SSO configurations, and MFA enforcement
    • Manage device lifecycle from procurement through deployment, configuration, and decommission using Microsoft Intune and Autopilot
    • Maintain device compliance policies, configuration profiles, and security baselines across Windows and mobile endpoints
    • Coordinate hardware procurement, asset inventory, and vendor relationships for device supply chain
    • Ensure endpoint security posture is aligned with organizational compliance and IT governance standards
  • User Enablement & Support Operations
    • Serve as a Tier 2 escalation point for cloud platform and endpoint issues, resolving complex user-impacting problems efficiently
    • Support employee onboarding technology experience including M365 provisioning, device setup, and application access
    • Contribute to the maintenance of SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge base documentation for all operational procedures
    • Coordinate with external managed service vendors and technology partners on incident resolution and service delivery
    • Track and report on service metrics, ticket trends, and operational performance
  • Automation & Continuous Improvement
    • Adopt and operationalize automation solutions deployed by the Technology Delivery team to streamline cloud operations workflows
    • Identify manual, repetitive processes and escalate automation opportunities to the Solution Engineer
    • Contribute to audit readiness, compliance documentation, and access reviews

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of certifications and 3-8 years of experience will be considered
  • Microsoft certifications: MS-102 (M365 Administrator Expert), MD-102 (Endpoint Administrator), SC-300 (Identity & Access Administrator), or equivalent
  • Experience with Microsoft Copilot deployment, governance, and adoption enablement
  • Background in a staffing, consulting, or professional services environment
  • Exposure to enterprise platforms such as Bullhorn, Paylocity, Costpoint, or similar business systems
