CLN Scheduler - Heart Center Cardio Surgeons - PRN - 1st Shift

About the role

Facilitates communication between patients, staff and physicians. Schedules hospital outpatient procedures and admissions in a timely and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

  • Sit for long periods of time, stoop, bend and stretch for files and supplies
  • Occasionally lift files or paper weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Operate a keyboard, calculator, telephone, copier and other office equipment
  • View terminal for long periods without eyestrain or stress
  • Correct vision and hearing within normal ranges for telephone contacts
  • View and type on computer screens for long periods
  • Work in an environment that can be very stressful

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • One year work experience, preferably in a medical office setting
  • Knowledge of medical business office procedures and practices
  • Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation to type patient information
  • Knowledge of medical terminology desirable

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of computer systems and software
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, supervisors, physicians and the public
  • Knowledge of the organization's policies and procedures
  • Effective work habits including regular attendance, teamwork, initiative, dependability, and promptness
