CLN Scheduler - Heart Center Cardio Surgeons - PRN - 1st Shift
About the role
Facilitates communication between patients, staff and physicians. Schedules hospital outpatient procedures and admissions in a timely and efficient manner.
Responsibilities
- Sit for long periods of time, stoop, bend and stretch for files and supplies
- Occasionally lift files or paper weighing up to 50 pounds
- Operate a keyboard, calculator, telephone, copier and other office equipment
- View terminal for long periods without eyestrain or stress
- Correct vision and hearing within normal ranges for telephone contacts
- View and type on computer screens for long periods
- Work in an environment that can be very stressful
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- One year work experience, preferably in a medical office setting
- Knowledge of medical business office procedures and practices
- Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation to type patient information
- Knowledge of medical terminology desirable
Qualifications
- Knowledge of computer systems and software
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, supervisors, physicians and the public
- Knowledge of the organization's policies and procedures
- Effective work habits including regular attendance, teamwork, initiative, dependability, and promptness
