About the role

Deliver comprehensive training and education programs to customers and personnel on company products, procedures, and best practices. Provide case support to trained customers domestically and internationally. Serve as a clinical expert for the company, supporting sales and marketing efforts through in-servicing key customers and troubleshooting product-related issues in the field.

Essential functions

  • Deliver approved content during didactic portions of training
  • Provide case support to trained customers (domestic and international) as part of Merit's commitment to the safe and efficacious use of products
  • Conduct assessment testing to ascertain the skill level and ability of those individuals being trained, and develop training curriculums and programs to improve knowledge, skill, and ability
  • Define protocol and assist in the field assessment of new product market research trials (MRT's)
  • Develop and implement ongoing home-study training course to improve and maintain a high level of product and clinical expertise in the field sales organization
  • Conduct ongoing staff training and provide clinical feedback to resolve customer related issues
  • Standardize and computerize (digitalize) sales training materials
  • Work with Product Managers to develop sales training and in-servicing videos
  • Answer clinical questions from doctors, technicians, sales representatives, and others
  • Support sales and marketing efforts by in-servicing key customers on Merit products
  • Work in the field to support and train clinicians on the use of Merit products and to troubleshoot product related issues in the field
  • Assess clinical competency of new employees and provide comprehensive feedback and recommendations for improvement
  • Write technical papers to support new emerging markets, segments and niches
  • Assist in coordinating and executing Symposiums and other clinical education events
  • Develop value added CEU credits to augment sales effort
  • Perform other duties and tasks as required

Qualifications

Education and/or business experience equivalent to a related Bachelor's Degree. A minimum of six years of hands-on medical experience. Experience within Endoscopy and/or General Surgery divisions preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to analyze feedback in a training environment to develop strategies to improve knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Thorough understanding of training and development techniques, and the ability to implement a corporate sales training program
  • Good analytical skills and the ability to understand complex issues
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to coordinate large programs
  • Demonstrated computer skills preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database and other applicable software programs

Preferred qualifications

  • Education and clinical experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse or Surgery Technician, or Radiology Technician
  • Medical product sales and sales training experience

Pay & benefits

$100k starting base salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
