About the role
The Field Experience Supervisor for Special Education supports and guides LFCE teaching credential candidates in a TK-12, 18-22 special education setting, focusing on fieldwork, intern, or directed/student teaching hours within the Inclusive Education (Special Education) program.
Responsibilities
- Mentor and observe teaching credential candidates
- Evaluate candidates' performance
- Provide constructive feedback
Requirements
- Master’s Degree from an accredited institution
- Valid Clear California Special Education Teaching Credential with an English Learner Authorization: Mild/Moderate, Moderate/Severe, Mild/Moderate Support Needs, Extensive Support Needs
- Valid Driver’s License
- Three years of experience with successful special education teaching experience
- Three years of experience working with diverse student populations including English learners
- Knowledge of the California Standards for the Teaching Profession for Special Education
- Knowledge of the Teaching Performance Expectations (TPEs) for Special Education
- Basic technology skills: completing online forms, scanning/emailing attachments
- Experience with online collaboration tools such as Google Classroom, WebEx, Zoom
- Experience in teaching and/or working with adult learners
Qualifications
Knowledge of the California Teaching Performance Assessment (CalTPA) for Special Education is preferred but not required.
