Clinical Teaching Field Experience Supervisor – Special Education

About the role

The Field Experience Supervisor for Special Education supports and guides LFCE teaching credential candidates in a TK-12, 18-22 special education setting, focusing on fieldwork, intern, or directed/student teaching hours within the Inclusive Education (Special Education) program.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and observe teaching credential candidates
• Evaluate candidates' performance
• Provide constructive feedback

Requirements

• Master’s Degree from an accredited institution
• Valid Clear California Special Education Teaching Credential with an English Learner Authorization: Mild/Moderate, Moderate/Severe, Mild/Moderate Support Needs, Extensive Support Needs
• Valid Driver’s License
• Three years of experience with successful special education teaching experience
• Three years of experience working with diverse student populations including English learners
• Knowledge of the California Standards for the Teaching Profession for Special Education
• Knowledge of the Teaching Performance Expectations (TPEs) for Special Education
• Basic technology skills: completing online forms, scanning/emailing attachments
• Experience with online collaboration tools such as Google Classroom, WebEx, Zoom
• Experience in teaching and/or working with adult learners

Qualifications

Knowledge of the California Teaching Performance Assessment (CalTPA) for Special Education is preferred but not required.
