Clinical Supervisor - Transit Homeless Outreach
About the Role
Jointly funded by the Department of Homeless Services and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, BRC's Transit Homeless Outreach staff members operate throughout the transit system 24 hours a day. Through this program, BRC provides outreach and case management services to humanely assist homeless individuals to permanently relocate from MTA properties. The program serves the New York City metropolitan area, including Manhattan, The Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens. Clients are engaged and assessed with the goal of connecting them with housing and essential services.
Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day operations of the subway outreach case management team (ILSs team) and individual team members.
- Oversee engagement, assessment, placement, and follow-up with chronic or high-profile homeless individuals.
- Ensure all clients have up-to-date charts, including psychiatric evaluations, narrative psychosocial, housing plans and applications, and other components of clinical charts.
- Evaluate clients for possible removal under the Mental Hygiene Law section 9.58.
- Participate in the clinical management team, attend clinical meetings, case conferences, and other meetings to present or discuss clients on caseload.
- Complete monthly reports and other reports as needed.
- Provide emergency CPR/First Aid or overdose prevention protocol if needed.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- LMSW and ability to obtain 9.58 removal designation.
- Experience with homeless, street/subway homeless, and MICA populations strongly preferred.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
- Bilingual preferred (including Spanish, Polish, Russian, Chinese, Korean, or other languages).
- Basic computer literacy required.
- CPR training certification or willingness to take training class in CPR.
Schedule
Full-time; 37.5 hours per week.
