Clinical Supervisor - Homeless Outreach

About the Role

BRC Homeless Outreach works with unsheltered individuals on the streets and in transportation hubs of Manhattan to motivate them to accept services that will get them off the streets both initially and for the long term. The program is funded by the NYS Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Amtrak, the East Midtown Partnership, and the Downtown Alliance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day operations of the subway outreach case management team (ILSs team) and individual team members.
• Oversee engagement, assessment, placement, and follow-up with chronic or high-profile homeless individuals.
• Ensure all clients have up-to-date charts, including psychiatric evaluations, narrative psychosocials, housing plans and applications, and other clinical chart components.
• Evaluate clients for possible removal under the Mental Hygiene Law section 9.58.
• Participate in the clinical management team, attend clinical meetings, case conferences, and other meetings to present or discuss clients on caseload.
• Complete monthly reports and other reports as needed.
• Provide emergency CPR/First Aid or overdose prevention protocol if needed.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

LCSW supervision hours available.

Qualifications

• MSW required.
• LMSW and ability to obtain 9.58 removal designation preferred (contingent on obtaining LMSW license).
• Experience with homeless, street/subway homeless, and MICA populations strongly preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Bilingual preferred (Spanish, Polish, Russian, Chinese, Korean, or other language).
• Basic computer literacy required.
• CPR training certification or willingness to complete training.
