Qualifications
- 2 years previous RN experience in same or similar unit(s) required or 1 year previous RN experience in same or similar unit(s) within an STHS facility preferred.
- 1-3 years previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Willingness to be cross-trained to other unit areas.
- Demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training, and immediate reporting of suspected compliance issues to the Compliance Officer.
Education / Licensure
- Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Texas, or part of a compact state license, or has a valid temporary RN license for the State of Texas while waiting to receive the permanent license.
- Education requirement: Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (or Bachelor’s degree in related field) or obtain the degree within 2 years of hire or promotion.
- Maintain current certifications according to unit specific needs, including but not limited to:
- BCLS/CPR
- ACLS
- PALS or ENPC
- NRP
- TNCC/TCAR
- STABLE
- CPI (SAMA at STBH)
- SAMA(STBH only)
- FETAL MONITORING
Other Requirements
- Familiar with basic nursing performance standards as outlined in the TX Nurse Practice Act.
- Pass Medication/Respiratory/Assessment within 3 months of coming to the department with a grade of 90 or greater.
