Clinical Social Worker, LICSW

About the role

A social work position within a hospital's Emergency Services team, focusing on responding to social needs and issues across emergency and inpatient settings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct biopsychosocial and trauma assessments.
• Implement trauma-informed, strengths-based interventions for patients and families.
• Screen for social determinants of health and provide case management and advocacy.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams and community providers.
• Develop safety plans, deliver brief interventions, and utilize techniques like motivational interviewing and trauma-focused CBT.
• Offer crisis intervention, problem-solving, and provide education, referrals, and counseling on issues such as child protection, violence, substance use, mental health, and homelessness.
• Build and maintain therapeutic relationships and communicate effectively with team members.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in social work.
• LICSW licensure in MA required.
• Preferred experience in medical social work and strong clinical skills.
• Cultural sensitivity; bicultural/bilingual skills are advantageous.
• Adaptability to a fast-paced environment.

Schedule

Full-time onsite role with rotating evening/night shifts.
