Clinical Social Worker, LICSW

Position Overview

This role involves providing social work services within an Emergency Department and inpatient settings, focusing on biopsychosocial assessments, trauma-informed interventions, and advocacy for patients and families.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to social needs and issues across clinical settings.
• Conduct biopsychosocial and trauma assessments.
• Implement trauma-informed, strength-based interventions.
• Screen for social determinants of health and provide case management and advocacy.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams and community providers.
• Develop safety plans and deliver brief, solution-focused interventions.
• Utilize techniques such as motivational interviewing and trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy.
• Provide crisis intervention, information, referrals, and counseling on issues like child protection, violence, substance use, mental health, and homelessness.
• Offer education and emotional support to patients and families.
• Maintain effective communication and therapeutic relationships.

Qualifications & Skills

• Master's degree in social work.
• LICSW licensure in the state required.
• Preferred experience in medical social work, with strong clinical skills and cultural competence.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment; bicultural/bilingual skills are a plus.
