About the role

The Bowery Mission is a Christian, faith-based organization dedicated to serving people experiencing homelessness, hunger, and poverty. The Clinical Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring high-quality clinical services and fostering a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises Social Workers and ensures they are well-trained and equipped to provide clinical evaluations, assessments, and referrals.
  • Maintains clinical practices that meet excellence in standards of care, census, and outcome goals, while promoting hospitality, physical safety, and crisis intervention.
  • Fosters collaboration across departments such as Community Life, Make Progress Clinical Services, Spiritual Formation, Operations, and Volunteer Services.
  • Collaborates with the Program Director to develop and expand external partnerships for Choose Help programming.
  • Supports the Campus Leader as needed and serves as the primary point of contact for cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Assists the Program Director in service delivery and oversees individual guest progress.
  • Maintains and increases guests' program referral rates through best practices.
  • Fosters an interdisciplinary and holistic approach to treatment, providing clinical expertise to resolve complex challenges.
  • Carries a small caseload of guests with more complex barriers to progress and provides leadership and supervision to Social Workers.
  • Fosters a cohesive team environment and facilitates regular individual/department meetings and case conferences.
  • Coaches Social Workers in best practices of guest engagement, including risk assessment, crisis management, and incident reporting.
  • Schedules direct reports for all required organizational trainings.
  • Welcomes and orientations new guests to shelter and reviews Community Life Guidelines.
  • Ensures accurate recording of census and guest data after every shift and in compliance with reporting protocols.
  • Conducts quality assurance reviews of clinical interventions, services, and procedures.
  • Schedules work hours: Monday-Friday: 9:00am-5:30pm.

Requirements

  • Embrace The Bowery Mission’s Statement of Faith.
  • A Master of Social Work or Mental Health Counseling, or a combination of education and additional work experience with supervisory and strong customer service duties.
  • At least 3 years of experience in ministry, non-profit, or human services with supervisory and strong customer service duties.
  • At least 3 years of clinical services with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Licensed Master of Social Worker (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • PREFERRED: Mental Health First Aid, Non-violent Crisis Intervention, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-informed Care, First Aid/CPR.

Benefits

Salary is commensurate with relevant education and experience: $75,000 - $80,000 annually.

Pay

$75,000 - $80,000 annually.

Schedule

Monday-Friday: 9:00am-5:30pm.
