About the Role

As an Acute Care Clinical Sales Specialist at Baxter, you will represent the Respiratory Health product line in hospital settings, driving sales of the Volara System, Vest 205, and Synclara System with a focus on capital opportunities and associated disposables. You will provide strategic leadership for healthcare‑system and IDN opportunities, oversee pricing strategy and contracting, and coordinate customer support with the clinical specialist team to ensure expert clinical application and positive patient outcomes.

Home Base: Minneapolis / St Paul, MN | Territory: Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska | Travel: 60‑75% overnight per month.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive generation of new sales across the acute‑care continuum to health‑care providers adopting a solutions‑sell proposition.
  • Utilize internal resources and tools to explain product applications and benefits, developing needs‑based sales opportunities.
  • Conduct negotiations with decision‑makers across customer organizations to keep the sales process fluid and close deals.
  • Coordinate efforts with clinical specialists and local Baxter counterparts to drive new sales and provide ongoing customer service.
  • Lead all aspects of product installation, ensuring basic training is provided and following up to confirm customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with customers to preserve the current base and grow new sales.
  • Strengthen Baxter relationships throughout all hospital network levels and departments to retain and expand account presence.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years proven experience as a top‑level sales performer in the medical device or health‑care industry (preferred).
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification – required.
  • Strong analytical skills to supervise sales activity, develop plans, understand market and competitive trends, and analyze sales deals.
  • Business acumen for selling to health‑care system/IDN senior administrators, structuring deals, negotiating contracts/pricing, and influencing decision‑makers.
  • Documented track record of success with complex, multi‑departmental deals involving clinical, executive, and financial stakeholders, and strong internal networking.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 75% of time, including 60‑75% overnight).

Compensation

Base salary range: $76,000 – $90,000 plus a commission target. The role includes uncapped commissions, a guaranteed start‑up compensation, and a competitive base salary.
