Clinical Psychologist Outpatient - Associate Professor - Director of Behavioral Health
About the role
The University of Minnesota’s Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is seeking a Licensed Clinical Psychologist for a clinical-track faculty position at the Associate or Full Professor level. This faculty role serves as the Director of Behavioral Health at the Community-University Health Care Center (CUHCC).
Responsibilities
- Exercise creativity and strategic thinking in clinical care management and clinical programming.
- Teach and supervise team members and trainees.
- Engage in research and other scholarly activities through the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.
- Oversee the development of mental health services and clinical placements.
- Manage the annual department budget and a strategic work plan.
- Ensure that all programs comply with federal and state regulations and focus on providing integrated, trauma-informed care across the organization.
Qualifications
- Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Clinical Psychology training program.
- Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Licensure.
- Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
- Able to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of the VISA category while in the United States.
- Demonstrated knowledge and training in trauma-informed mental health care.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- 10 or more years of experience in:
- Leading innovation in trauma-informed care for highly diverse populations, including BIPOC communities and individuals with co-morbid diagnoses.
- Possess significant expertise in financial strategy, grant management, and cultivating collaborative relationships with external stakeholders and community agencies.
- Create and disseminate new knowledge in the science of mental health.
- Provide effective and innovative clinical care programs to alleviate the suffering of mental illness and promote mental resilience.
- Train the next generation of interprofessional experts who will be leaders in Minnesota and beyond.
- Engage in compassionate and vigorous outreach and advocacy on issues relevant to psychiatric illness, treatment, and research.

Pay and Benefits
This role is dually employed by University of Minnesota Physicians and the University of Minnesota. Total salary is market-competitive and based on AAMC salary benchmarks. Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through M Physicians. The base salary range for this position is $116,000 - $160,000 commensurate with experience, qualifications, and cFTE. The salary from the University is dependent upon the academic effort of the person hired.
