Clinical Program Therapist 2 - Substance Use Disorder

About the Role

As a Substance Use Therapist, you will provide specialized therapeutic programming to clients in an alcohol and other drug treatment program within a Minnesota Correctional Facility. You will be responsible for all aspects of program content, including security, assessment/evaluation, psycho-educational programming, monitoring and reporting, teaching, training, and maintaining professional standards. This role involves working with incarcerated individuals.

Responsibilities

• Provide behavioral health services, including individual and group therapy.
• Develop, implement, and monitor treatment plans and continuing care plans.
• Conduct client intakes and assessments.
• Deliver psycho-educational programming.
• Maintain proficient documentation and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with security protocols in a correctional setting.

Requirements

• Current licensure or eligibility for licensure through reciprocity by the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) or equivalently qualified to perform alcohol and drug counseling under Minnesota Statute 148F.11.
  • Note: License-eligible applicants must include licensure status in their resume or application. Successful candidates must obtain a temporary ADC permit within 60 days of employment and a current LADC license within the 6-month probationary period.
• Two (2) years of experience providing behavioral health services, including individual and group therapy.
  • An associate’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field may substitute for six months of experience.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.
  • A master’s degree in a related field may substitute for two years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current Minnesota LADC licensure.
• Advanced degree in psychology, social work, or a related behavioral/social science field.
• Experience completing client intakes and leading individual and group therapy in a substance use disorder (SUD) setting.
• Experience working in a correctional or secure setting.

Skills

• Verbal and written communication skills, including proficient documentation.
• Strong interpersonal and human relations skills.
• Ability to provide substance use treatment and formulate treatment plans.

Physical Requirements

• Review and sign a Physical Demands Analysis (PDA) for this position.
• Tuberculosis screening required prior to hire.

Additional Requirements

• Top candidate(s) must pass a criminal history check, including successful completion of all sentencing and/or restitution requirements.
• Employment history and reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment, will be conducted.
• New employees will be fingerprinted within the first 30 days of employment.
• This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship (e.g., F-1 STEM OPT extensions). Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Pay

$28.75 - $42.16 per hour
$60,030 - $88,030 annually

Schedule

Day Shift: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Monday - Friday
