About the role

The primary responsibility of a Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Therapist is to provide specialized therapeutic programming to clients in an alcohol and other drug treatment program. This role involves all aspects of program content, including security, assessment/evaluation, psycho-educational programming, monitoring and reporting, teaching, training, and adhering to professional standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to clients in a secure environment.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to each client's needs.
  • Monitor and report on client progress and compliance with treatment protocols.
  • Train and supervise other staff members involved in the SUD treatment program.
  • Ensure all therapeutic activities comply with state and federal regulations.

Requirements

  • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) through the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy.
  • Two (2) years of experience providing behavioral health services, including individual and group therapy.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience in a correctional/secure setting.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field.
  • Experience completing client intakes and leading individual and group therapy in an SUD setting.
  • Ability to provide substance use treatment and formulate and implement treatment plans.

Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency in substance use treatment methodologies.
  • Effective teaching and training abilities.

Pay

$28.75 - $42.16 / hourly; $60,030 - $88,030 / annually

Schedule

Day shift: 7 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday
