Clinical Program Coordinator - Nursing

Summary Of Responsibilities

  • Facilitates and maintains relationships with hospitals, clinics, care facilities, and other training sites for nursing student clinical rotations.
  • Mets with and prepares each nursing student for clinical rotations according to what is required for each site, providing the resources, training, and assistance necessary to meet the specific requirements for each site, including all issues of compliance, immunizations, background checks, verification of prereqs, etc.
  • Schedules, coordinates, and completes all necessary and required paperwork associated with nursing clinical training through state and federal regulatory agencies; maintains program records for all Nursing degree programs.
  • Creates and oversees new student orientation each year, starting with the interview process through selection and admittance.
  • Coodinates the preparation of and maintains affiliation agreements for all clinical training sites through the GC office and training sites.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

  • Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree in a related discipline; OR a combination of education and experience totaling four years.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Knowledge Must have experience with and an in-depth understanding of the healthcare professions specific to Nursing.
  • Knowledge of best practices in customer service, marketing communications, correspondence, and appropriate matters of etiquette in various settings.
  • Knowledge of contract language (basic).

Skills

  • Skill in the use of computers and computer software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, internet, databases, and presentations.
  • Skill in the preparation and interpretation of reports, charts, graphs, and tables.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional customer service orientation and phone etiquette.
  • Skill in maintaining the confidentiality of highly sensitive information at all times.

Abilities

  • Ability to perform a variety of administrative support duties with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to follow oral and written procedures and instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to meet and work with people of various backgrounds.
  • Ability to plan and anticipate potential changes and act accordingly.
  • Ability to enact strategic changes affecting multiple stakeholders, including high-level department issues and clinical locations for rotations/clerkships.
  • Ability to think strategically and foresee potential problems; possessing the ability to solve those problems to avoid conflict that would put stakeholders at any kind of risk.
