About the Role
This position involves providing leadership and administrative oversight in a healthcare setting. Key responsibilities include investigating operational issues, performing rounds on nursing units, and responding to hospital codes. The role requires addressing concerns from staff, patients, families, and physicians, while facilitating communication between departments. You will collaborate with staff to ensure appropriate staffing, act as a liaison between Nursing and Medical Staff, and participate in policy development and safety measures. Leadership duties include serving on committees, managing interim roles, and completing special projects as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and administrative oversight in a healthcare environment
- Investigate operational issues and perform rounds on nursing units
- Respond to hospital codes and address concerns from staff, patients, families, and physicians
- Facilitate communication between departments
- Collaborate with staff to ensure appropriate staffing levels
- Act as a liaison between Nursing and Medical Staff
- Participate in policy development and safety measures
- Serve on committees and manage interim roles
- Complete special projects as assigned
Work Environment
- Primarily mobile, spending over 70% of time on patient care units engaging with staff, visitors, and physicians
- Fast-paced with frequent interruptions, requiring walking, standing, bending, and lifting
- Adheres to PPE policies as per infection control guidelines
- Serves patients of all age groups
- Access to restricted patient information (Level 4)
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing school with a current NY RN license
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive nursing experience
- CPR certification within the past 3 months
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Preferred: Supervisory experience
- Preferred: Nursing administration certification
- Preferred: ACLS certification
