Clinical Nursing Supervisor

About the Role

This position involves leading nursing teams, investigating operational issues, and making administrative decisions in collaboration with leadership. The role requires a fast-paced, primarily mobile work environment with frequent direct contact with staff, patients, and visitors, involving walking, standing, and lifting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct rounds on nursing units, observe resident care, and provide feedback
• Respond to hospital codes and address concerns from staff, patients, families, and physicians
• Manage communication with media and resolve inter-departmental issues
• Collaborate with staff and Nurse Managers to ensure proper staffing
• Facilitate cooperation between Nursing and Medical Staff
• Disseminate facility information
• Respond to safety hazards and participate in committees
• Accept interim management duties as needed

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing school
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive nursing experience
• Current NY State RN license
• CPR certification within 3 months of hire
• Knowledge of HIPAA and infection control policies

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• Supervisory experience
• Nursing administration certification
• ACLS certification
